Karate Family

McInnes SenseiThe KV Karate Club encourages parents and children participation giving them an opportunity to develop and enjoy a sport together.

Both the Rothesay and Hampton, New Brunswick locations are priviledged to be led by Robert McInnes (Renshi). He is a 6th Dan (Rokudan) who, in 1968, came to New Brunswick and introduced karate to the maritimes. Kind and gentle, he is a motivating force who inspires all of us to give that little extra.  He has participated in countless clinics and workshops, many of which he has instructed, as well as participated.  Currently, he serves as the Chief Instructor for New Brunswick Chito-Ryu, Technical Director National Canadian Chito-Ryu Association, and Technical Director for Karate New Brunswick.

In addition to Sensei McInnes, we also have Jonathan Webber who holds the title of Shidoin and is a San Dan (third degree black belt); Kevin McKenna, Andrew Lanteigne and Neil Pond (Sandan); Michael Arsenault (Nidan - 2nd degree Black Belts), and Dave Hunter, Brenda Legacy, Brent Donovan, Murray Quinn, Orasa Webber, Lori Donovan, Jeff Carr, Nathan Quinn, Mike Quinn and Colt Lanteigne (Shodan - Black Belts) and Hillary Pond (Jr. Shodan) who teach classes on a regular basis.

Occasionally, we have guests visiting from around New Brunswick and beyond. It is a wonderful opportunity to have these guests visiting us at various times. Some guests provide demonstations in karate or other related martial arts. We always look forward to having guests join our classes.

Our club has members located in Southern New Brunswick. Most members live in the lower Kennebecasis Valley area, from Saint John to Sussex. There are two clubs that meet under McInnes Sensei's leadership. One club in Rothesay, NB, and the other in Hampton, NB. Students are welcome to attend both clubs.
