July 30, 2008 at the New Maryland Village Office, the Mayor of the village, Frank Dunn made a special presentation to Katie Campbell in recognition of her Silver Medal performance at the Canadian National Karate Championship, and for her placement on the National Junior team that will be competing in Santiago Chile this September. On Katie's left is her instructor Don Mazerolle sensei, and on her right is His Worship Mayor Dunn.

Katie Campbell, and Emy Ritchie, members of the New Maryland Karate Club, received support and best wishes from his worship Frank Dunn, mayor of the village of New Maryland, and Judy Wilson-Shee, village councillor, June 12, 2008. Katie and Emy represented New Brunswick at the Canadian National Karate Championships at Harbour Station, Saint John, July 4, 5, and 6, 2008.
 

The New Maryland Karate Club was awarded the first annual McInnis Cup May 16, 2008. The cup is awarded to the club whose members have accumulated the most points for tournament performances.

Laurie Mazerolle and Katie Campbell were chosen as outstanding male and female athletes for 2007 at the Atlantic Chito-ryu banquet held in Rothesay, NB May 15, 2008.

The Club's 2008 spring session for juniors officially ended mid-June. Here are some pictures taken during the last class.
